The Golden Buddha
The Golden Buddha temple, also called Wat Traimit, is one of the premier destination for tourists in Bangkok. The draw, of course, is the amazing Buddha statue that stands approximately 10 feet tall and is made of gold. Admission is free but donations of approximately 20B are encouraged.

Temple of the Dawn
Wat Arun, also known as Temple of the Dawn, is another one of Bangkok's most famous temples. It features a Khmer style tower that is surrounded by four prangs. This temple is the only real attraction located on the Thonburi side of the river. A ride to the temple on a ferry costs 2B, while admission to the temple costs around 20B. Temple of the Reclining Buddha
The Temple of the Reclining Buddha is also known as Wat Po and is another famous Bangkok temple. This temple is the biggest, and oldest in all of Bangkok, dating back to the 16th century and the reign of Rama I. Admission costs are 20B, although you can hire a helpful English speaking tour guide for around 200B.

Chiang Mai National Museum
The Chiang Mai National Museum houses a variety of ancient treasures which help to educate visitors about the Lanna Kingdom and hill tribes of the area. While not as spectacular as the Bangkok Museum, the Chiang Mai National Museum is definitely worth a visit. Descriptions are in English and easy to understand. Admission costs 30B. Chiang Mai Zoo
Over 7,000 animals live at the Chiang Mai Zoo. There are pandas, koalas from Australia, a freshwater aquarium, a spectacular walk through bird enclosure featuring more than 800 birds, and more. The Tribal Museum
The Tribal Museum is based around exhibits that explore the daily life of Thailand's hilltribe people. If you plan to check out any of the villages in the north, this museum is a good place to begin your education on the subject. Admission to this small yet interesting museum is free.

Wat Chedi Luang
This widely visited temple is located near the Tha Pae Gate and is the former home of the Emerald Buddha. The temple dates back to the 1400's, but was rebuilt after it was destroyed by an earthquake. Wat Phra Singh
One of the most popular shrines in the city of Chiang Mai is Wat Phra Singh. There are over 700 monks that come here and the majority of them are friendly and helpful to visitors.
