Belize City

Belize City is the largest city in Belize and used to be its capital. There are a wide variety of things to experience in this energetic locale. No matter what you feel like doing on your vacation, you can likely find it in Belize City.

Another popular attraction just outside of Belize City is the Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center. In addition to simply being a zoo, it is also a rescue center for abandoned animals. Some people attempt to keep wild animals as pets and abandon them when they find they cannot care for them.

These animals are unable to survive in the wild, so the zoo takes care of them. These rescued animals play a large role in educating visitors about wildlife and the environment. Another attraction located close to the city limits is Gran's Farm. Here you'll find exotic fruit for sale, boating excursions, swimming, hiking and more.
