Acropolis
The Acropolis is one of the most popular tourist attractions in all of Athens. These ancient ruins of this amazing stone city include the legendary Parthenon, Temple of Athena and much more. Be sure to check out the Acropolis Archaeological Museum while you're there. Tickets cost 12 Euros for adults and can be used for an entire week.

Parthenon
The Parthenon is part of the Acropolis, however admission must be purchased separately for 6 Euros. At the ruins of this incredible outdoor stadium, you'll get to walk in the footsteps of gladiators. On a tour of this locale, you'll even get to see the underground area where the lions and tigers were kept.

National Archaeological Museum (Museo Archeologico Nazionale)
At the recently renovated National Archaeological Museum in Athens, you'll see priceless treasures such as prehistoric artifacts, ancient Mycenean objects, and one of the finest sculpture collections found anywhere. In addition to the permanent collection, there are temporary exhibitions to see also. Full admission to the museum costs 7 Euros with reduced admission for senior citizens and students at 3 Euros.

Benaki Museum
The Benaki Museum is a private collection that includes approximately 20,000 pieces of priceless art. The treasures here date from the Neolithic Era to the 20th century. After touring the museum, be sure to visit the gift shop and cafe for souvenirs, food and a fantastic view of the city. Admission costs 6 Euros, free on Thursdays.

The Jewish Museum
The Jewish community of Greece was all but eliminated during the Holocaust period. At the Jewish Museum, you get to view exhibits such as objects from daily life such as photos and religious artifacts from this approximate time period and before. One of the most popular exhibits is an incredible reconstruction of the Patras synagogue. Admission costs 3 Euros.
