White House
Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the most famous building in Washington D.C. -- The White House. U.S. Capitol Building
The U.S. Capitol Building is a historic building that's been home to both houses of Congress, the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress for around 100 years. The Rotunda is the main area of this building and is covered with an amazing dome. Thirty minute tours of the Capitol are free of charge, and allow you to see incredible art and architecture and learn about the building's history.

The Lincoln Memorial
The Lincoln Memorial is a temple-like building which was erected to honor America's 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. The memorial sports 36 columns which represent the number of states in the Union at the time of Lincoln's assasination. This memorial was the site of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream speech." The Lincoln Memorial is free to visit.

Smithsonian Institution
The Smithsonian Institution is commonly thought of as a museum, but it's actually a research center with 19 different museums in one! All Smithsonian Institution Museums are free to visit and include choices like The Air and Space Museum, American History Museum, Postal Museum and Natural History Museum, to name a few. The Smithsonian is a can't-miss destination for any visitor to D.C.!

National Zoological Park
The National Zoo is actually a part of the Smithsonian Institution and is one of the most famous in the world. There are 500 different species of animals housed at the Zoo, including the popular Giant Pandas. Kids and adults alike will love this beautifully landscaped zoo which features incredible habitat enclosures and so many things to see and do.
